Early pre 1936 Heer Officers Staff car fender pennant.
Superb condition early (pre 1936) Army officers double sided staff car fender pennant.
Manufactured from high quality field grey cotton with embroidered Wehrmacht eagle and swastikas to both sides.
Very detailed national eagles.
No moth or damage and with the fabric tightly sewn on. Approximately 21cm x 35cm.
Minor aging to fabric.
Internal magnetic steel wire frame still with the original mounting clamps. All 4 original screws present and 3 nuts (one nut missing).
On November 10th 1934 the Oberkommnado des Heeres introduced the national eagle vehicle pennants for use by all Officers and Officials as an identifying emblem of rank when riding in a staff vehicle.
The pennant was to be flown from the right fender of a vehicle when the Officer was present.
The regulations were amended on August 13th 1936 that prescribed the addition of a white trim to the pennant.
Regulations were again amended on September 8th 1936 stating the pennants must be of German manufacture and in good condition.
The pennants were either stiffened with an internal metal wire frame or an an external celluloid cover.
Rare piece in excellent condition.
