Early 1939 Ubergrosse or Knights Cross size Iron Cross Second Class by Frank & Reif.

Excellent condition very early 1939 Übergröße EKII. So called Knights Cross size or Ubergrosse 47mm x 47mm Iron Cross.
Always unmarked these Crosses are believed to have been manufactured by Frank & Reif after several have been found in F&R marked packets.
Unmarked 900 grade silver frame with a black finished magnetic iron core. Some minor pinprick size air bubbles in the paint around the 1813 date, most likely due to a production error in the baking of the core after painting.
Excellent paint finish with no wear.
Typically seen on Ubergrosse Crosses is the 3 out of 4 filed inner corners adjacent to the swastika.
Believed by some collectors to be prototype Ritterkreuz but more likely just an early variation EKII like Schinkel-form Crosses etc.
Complete with a full issue length of original ribbon.
